Because of Leslie's Welsh background and his degree in agriculture, in the early 1970s they moved to Wales, to a farm in Llandyssul, Cardiganshire. They felt that the hounds needed space and so the farm was perfect in this respect. They ran beef cattle on their sixty plus acres. When their sons grew up, one became a vet and the other an electronics engineer.

Mated to Ch. Sulhamstead Max, Carol produced Ch. Eaglescrag Clonroe of Nendrum, who was flown to the Jenkins from Belfast at the age of about twelve weeks. He gave them their first taste of the big ring by winning Best of Breed at Crufts in 1966 and was the sire of several champions. Clonroe's littersister, Ir. Ch. Corrie of Nendrum, was mated to Ch. Sanctuary Brave Knight and produced the Jenkins's Eaglescrag Alice of Nendrum. Alice mated to Clindhu produced Ch. Caio of Eaglescrag, and mated to Red Wully she produced Ch. Fintan of Eaglescrag, their first BIS winner - at Blackpool in 1973. Alice mated to Clonroe produced Ch. Conchessa of Eaglescrag, and Conchessa mated to Sulhamstead Woodside Finn, produced Ch. Clodagh of Eaglescrag.

Two bitches came into the kennel from outside, one the Clindhu daughter, bred by Elsie James, Ch. Eaglescrag Cooleen of Boroughbury. She was mated to Wully and a bitch, Amber, was retained from the litter. Amber mated to Caio produced Ch. Eaglescrag Kelt. The other bitch was Thornwick Rossan of Eaglescrag, a daughter of Din Jo of Boroughbury (a son of Clonroe). Rossan mated to Caio produced Ch. Eaglescrag Toby, and Kelt and Toby mated together produced Eaglescrag Kate, who was exported to America where she became a champion and produced, by US Ch. Wildisle Warlock, Fitzarran Yankee who was imported back to Eaglescrag.

Caio won 14 CCs in all, the last being from the Veteran Dog class at the L.K.A. in 1975, under Judy de Casembroot. He then went on to win the Hound Group. Apart from Kelt and Toby, Caio sired Ch. Mochras Banrion, and Ir. Chs. Boroughbury Justice and Jolly. Justice proved a great sire and a major influence on the breed in Ireland.
