There are few men who have remained as loyal to a breed as long as Mr. I.W. Everett in Irish Wolfhounds; it has been our pleasure to have known him for many years, yet, so far as our memory serves, nothing but the giants of the Emerald Isle have been benched by him. Many are the great winners which have been bred and reared at this establishment, and not only have they they scored throughout the United Kingdom, but their successes have been repeated in all four corners of the earth. Again, amny have been purchased for companions, for no breed is more adaptable in this direction; especially so for those person living out of town who require and intelligent, hardy dog for protection, without any viciousness. Size, soundness, head, character, and general conformation are some of the principal characteristics of the "Felixstowes" and as the several stud dogs and brood bitches have been so carefully and zealously bred for generations, those interested may always rest content that here may be obtained hounds of high lineage and correct type. Mr. Everett, having had his hounds since 1917 on the same grass land, where unfortunately space was somewhat limited, has at last been successful in purchasing eight acres of good hilly meadow land falling to the south, with sand and gravel sub-soil. Here are now completed ranges of kennels and other buildings which will materially tend to the further comfort and well-being of the hounds.

There is splendid accommodation for the sleeping of a score of specimens, each separate. These comprise two blocks, one for the adults and the other for isolating on return from shows; these and three grass paddocks being so arranged that no communication is possible with either of the other kennels or runs, having at least 15 feet of "no mans land" right round, thereby avoiding the risk of contagion. Another paddock and two kennels are specially arranged for the proper rearing of winter puppies. Situated under a hill with a southern aspect makes it hard to beat in this direction.

The runs are on the outer sides, with 6ft. penfold fencing to keep the hounds within bounds. From these remarks it may be rightly concluded that Mr. Everett has brought his long. great experience to bear on the erection and planning of his new place. Before Spring comes he hopes to have a bungalow built practically in the centre of the paddocks, where he will live. This structure and the kennels will all be supplied with water by the aid of a hydraulic ram fed by three springs, collected in one corner of the meadow and conveyed to the buildings and eventually to the kennelman's cottage, which will be erected when all the other part is finished. We give here views of some of the kennels and some of the inmates. FELIXSTOWE KILFREE may safely be described as a huge bitch, about 35 in. at shoulder, brimful of wonderful type, beautiful outline, and possesses all the essentials of a successful brood bitch as well as a good winner. With very few opportunities she has done capitally in the ring. She was whelped February, 1927; has charming disposition and no nerves. FELIXSTOWE KILLAGH may be termed a wonderful young hound, whelped February, 1927, in colour silver-brindle, with enormous bone, very sound loin, and much like Felixstowe Kilfree. She carries an abundance of coat and is by Felixstowe Kilconly ex Felixstowe Colleen. Only exhibited once, winning a brace of 1sts and some 2nds in breed and Variety classes. This brace of bitches can be spared - Kilfree at 250 guineas and Killagh at 150 guineas. 1928 has been a most successful year for sales, many being exported to foreign climes and numerous others all over the British Isles. A better lot of youngsters has never yet been produced or owned by the Suffolk fancier at one time, and we mujst specially note a trio of phenomenal seven-months-old dog hounds and a brace of lovely sisters of theirs. By appointment Mr. Everett will be pleased to show his hounds and kennels to those genuinely interested in them, and bear in mind that all the inmates of all ages live a natural open-air life, artificial heat of any kind being taboo.
